What is EBEC?
’European BEST Engineering Competition’ is an engineering competition in which, every year, the best students from technological specializations gather to compete in three different stages. The contestants also get the chance to get into touch with some of the biggest companies in the field.
Within EBEC teams made of 4 students from technological profiles, no matter the year they are in, are challenged by BEST or its partners to solve the one or more tasks in order to win the competition.
Engineering Competitions first took place in Canada. The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students created in 1985 the concept of competitions under the name of Engineering Competitions (CEC).
Did you know? The first EBEC competition took place between 17-23 October 2003 and was organised by the Local Groups BEST Eindhoven and Ghent.
Did you know? In the Case Study stage the teams are challenged to solve a real life problem provided by the competitions collaborator companies.
Did you know? Ever since the first EBEC in 2002, the competition grew to such an extent, that in 2017 there are 84 local events being organised all over Europe.
BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is a non-political, non-profit european volunteering organisation, dedicated to students from technological profiles. Since 1989 we managed to create a platform for students located in the most important European Academic Centers through communication and cooperation. With local groups in 95 technical universities from 33 countries, we have created a dynamic and innovative network, made of technology students! Our objective is to develop students with the purpose of teaching them how to cope in various cultural environments and how to reach their full academic and professional potential.
